On 7 th February, a meeting was held in Valencia with FERRMED members and personnel of the Spanish Mediterranean Corridor Commissioner office, as a
continuation of the regular meetings hold in the past. This one has been the first with the present Commissioner, Mr. Josep Vicent Boira.
The main subject of the meeting was to unify the criteria about the most conflictive points of the Corridor. Mr. Joan Amorós, president of FERRMED, made the
introduction duly stating the situation of the Corridor, emphasizing the key points already commented with the former Coordinator and the main issues already pending
about infrastructure and operations. In that sense, the Development Plan proposed by FERRMED in the study made on 2015 and the Declaration of Girona (concerning the
French-Spanish transborder problems), was delivered to the Commissioner.
Mr. Boira clarified the duty of the Commissioner and his team and due to the importance of the subjects proposed by FERRMED, he suggested the creation of a
Sub-commission between FERRMED and his Office. The proposal was very well accepted by the attendants. From the Commissioner office will participate Mr. Miguel
Ventura and Mr. Antonio Vicente. The FERRMED coordinator will be Mr. Josep Maria Rovira, Secretary General. Several organisations manifested their intention to belong
to this group.
