Joint working session, at the Department of the Vice-Presidency and Digital Policies and Territory of the Generalitat de Catalunya, chaired by Isidre Gavín, Secretary of Territory and Mobility and Joan Amorós, President of FERRMED, to analyse the improvement actions envisaged in the "FERRMED Study of Traffic and Modal Shift Optimisation in the EU", in Catalonia, with regard to intermodal terminals (new and improvements to the existing ones), as well as the interconnection lines between the terminals, on June 22nd.
Also attended by Josep Maria Cruset, president of the Port of Tarragona; Francesc Fornells, Secretary of Strategy, Information and Territorial Coordination, Mercè Rius, General Director of Transport and Mobility, and representatives of the Port of Barcelona, of CIMALSA, as well as the advisors of FERRMED.
The main activity was the analysis of all the problems of movement of goods, traffic and volumes planned in the coming years and their impact on railway lines and terminals, in accordance with the scenarios considered in the Study. In particular, the entire impact on the BCN-Tarragona-Lleida triangle was discussed.
It was agreed that, in the future, when the Study is concluded, complementary work sessions would be held.
